Just throwing this out here to see if anyone else has done this:

I recently had a music video playback gig and used the 744T. I tried
recording the track at 29.97 FPSND @ 48kHz. I then looked for a way
to pull up to 30 FPSND @ 48.048 very much like the old days with the
PD-4. When I switched time-code rates on the 744T, it did not affect
the playback speed of the originally recorded track. After reading
through the manual, and a call to tech support, it appears that there
is no way to do a pull up on the unit.

There is, however, a sampling rate option in the 744T menu that can be
used for this purpose.
Record the track at sampling rate 48.048F (f for fake) and the unit
forces the time-code to 30FPSND. Play back at this rate.

Once the track is transferred from the 744T, it's sampling rate is
read by other software at 48kHz and 29.97 FPSND. The 744T has done
the "pull down" for you.

Let me know if anyone has tried this.

thanks

Aron,
First of all are they shooting on film?
If not, there is no pull up or pull down needed if they are shooting SD at
29.97 or HD 24p at 23.976.

Second, what are you playing the tracks back on while shooting?

Also what are you playing the tracks back on while making the dub to the
744t at 48048F?

The method you describe is un-tested and I think may not work properly. It
might actually pull you in the wrong direction. It also depends on whether
the film will be synced in telecine or on a digital workstation. Also are
you re-recording the tracks with an open mic for dual slates or on-camera
dialogue during each take or are you simply playing back and using the same
track for each take in telecine.
