The placement of the power and audio input jacks at a right angle to
the antenna mount prevents me from sliding the unit into the Petrol
wireless pouches. I asked the vendor of the unit how to mount it on my
bag and they said they had no idea. At this point I may have to rubber
band the TRX900AA one of the carry straps...

you can make hols inside the pouch wall and go with the connectors
thru it

Instead of using a rubberband, why don't you use the belt clip?
